Queen's University Belfast are the new pool intervarsity kings! The Belfast team defeated NUI Galway in the final at the Fairways Hotel in Dundalk to win the title for the fourth time.

The individual crown also went north, with Queen's student Andrew Maguire getting the better of former winner Colin Crossan from Leitrim who plays with IT Sligo in the decider (4-2).

It Sligo won the Intermediate Team with a 6-3 victory over WIT in that final.

The next big higher education date is the Home Internationals in Tara Towers, Dublin, on 25-26 April. Ireland is hoping to field a very strong team to dethrone the defending champions from north of the Border.
