{"id":78,"date":"2014-03-11T19:05:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irishpool.info\/?p=78"},"modified":"2014-03-11T19:05:39","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:05:39","slug":"2014-festival-of-pool-mens-ladies-o50s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.irishpoolassociation.ie\/?p=78","title":{"rendered":"2014 Festival of Pool: Mens, Ladies, O50&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<div> \tFollowing on from the success of the inaugural Festival of Pool in 2013 we are delighted to announce details of the 2014 event.<\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 0, 0);\">DATE: June Bank Holiday Weekend &#8211; Thursday 29th May (6pm start) to 1st June 2014<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 0, 0);\">VENUE: West County Hotel, Ennis, Co. Clare (newly renovated)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div> \t<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5;\">As well as the Inter-County Team Championships and Irish Championship Singles for all categories over the weekend of the Festival of Pool we will also have the &lsquo;Grand Finals&rsquo; of the Joe&rsquo;s Bar IPA Premier League. The Top-4 Players in the standings after all Premier League Matches have been played will play off for a prize pool of &euro;2,000.<\/span><\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p> \t<span style=\"color:#ff0000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5;\">Format for the All Ireland Inter-County Team Event Competition:&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5;\">This year, the men&#39;s event will be expanded to include an All-Ireland Inter-County &lsquo;B&rsquo; Championship Event, aimed at counties sending a second team and newer counties endeavouring to build up the sport in their locality. The Inter-County Shield Event is still in place for counties who don&rsquo;t qualify from their groups in both the &lsquo;A&rsquo; and &lsquo;B&rsquo; Championships. This format will still give every team the same amount of pool as in previous years but after listening to some feedback it was decided that two separate competitions is the way to go. If any &lsquo;B&rsquo; team feels that they are strong enough to play in the &lsquo;A&rsquo; competition then we will make an allowance but we encourage all &lsquo;A&rsquo; teams and &lsquo;B&rsquo; and &lsquo;C&rsquo; teams to participate in the two separate competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"boxheader\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5;\">Closing Date for all team entries &#8211; mens, ladies and over 50s is Saturday the 22nd March 2014. This is the Saturday of the fifth ranking event in the Carlton Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe. All teams are to have their full entry fee for the team event in on this date. The cost as normal is &euro;250 per team and if a county enters three teams the third team&rsquo;s registration is free. No entries will be accepted after this date. Note that we will accept all &lsquo;A&rsquo; and &lsquo;B&rsquo; team entries and &lsquo;C&rsquo;<\/span><\/p>\n<div> \tTeams will be accepted on a first come first served basis. In order to confirm a &lsquo;C&rsquo; team a deposit of &euro;100 is required which will be returned at the Festival of Pool Weekend.<\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p class=\"box\"> \t<span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">Singles\/Individual Competitions<\/span><\/p>\n<div> \tClosing Date for all Singles Entries is Friday 9th May 2014. Mo entries will be accepted after this date. We will put numerous reminders on Facebook and on the website but it is up to all team managers to remind their players that this is the closing date. Entry is &euro;40 and is payable at the Festival of Pool.<\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div> \tDress Code; The dress code for the All Ireland Inter-County Team Events and Irish Championship Singles this year will be the same as in previous years, waistcoat, shirt, proper trousers (i.e. no denims etc.) and proper shoes (no trainers).<\/div>\n<div> \t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p class=\"box_text\"> \t<span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">Accommodation<\/span><\/p>\n<div> \tPlease contact the hotel directly on 065-6869600 to book accommodation.
