Wexford on the 12th\u00a0 September 1993.The purpose of the meeting was to form a committee which would set up an association that would oversee the running of pool in Ireland.<\/p><p>The following people formed that first committee: Michael Fortune, Thomas Kinsella, Pat Corcoran, Nicky Cahill. John Murray, (these five Wexford men along with four English based players Tony Holgate, Greg Farren, Neil Armstrong, Bill Reynolds represented Ireland in the first World Championships in 1993.) Noel Whelan, Bernard Finnegan and Tommy Wilkinson.<\/p><p>The first A.G.M. was held in the 7th Lock Tavern in Dublin and the inter county league commenced on the 15th January 1995. The association has continued to flourish since those early days with many additional age categories being introduced over the years.
